UBM India had started operations with the head office in Mumbai in May 2006 with just 8 employees; today it has 120 employees. The company has expanded its reach with branch offices in Delhi , Bangalore and Chennai — the new offices are designed to provide an operational base for all UBM's businesses as they develop and expand their activities across the sub-continent.

UBM India launched two events in 2006 and subsequently held several successful events in the years 2007, 2008 and 2009.

CPhI India (Convention on pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates) PMEC (Pharmaceutical machinery & equipment convention) & ICSE ( International Contract Service Expo) together, are the biggest and most comprehensive pharmaceutical trade exhibitions in South Asia .

Food Ingredients India (Fi) conference and exhibition launched in 2006 and Hotelex India address niche sectors.

IFSEC India 2007 was a successful launch, which established UBM's entry into the security market. IFSEC India along with Firex India 2008 and 2009 addressed the security as well as the fire sectors.

The Hyderabad Jewellery and Gem fair - the key professional fair for the jewellery market in south India , was launched in 2008 and was followed with another successful edition in 2009. UBM India also successfully partnered with the Madras Jewellers and Diamond Merchants Association (MJDMA) and organized the B2B Gem & Jewellery India International exhibition at Chennai in 2009.

In 2009, UBM India also launched and successfully organized Informex (an event for fine chemicals & specialty chemicals and pharmaceutical industries), fMM&T (footwear material machinery and technology) and India Energy conferences. Interop 2009-world's leading Information Technology event in the enterprise space and India Nuclear Energy were the prized launches of the company.

UBM India with its technology and publishing division - UBM Technology Media, started in May 2007 , brought the power of trusted IT media brands to technology and business decision makers through online properties, IT gatherings and industry-leading magazines with renowned IT brands like Network Computing ( www.networkcomputing.in ), CRN ( www.crn.in ) and Information Week ( www.informationweek.in ), Techonline India ( www.techonlineindia.com ). ESC India (Embedded Systems Conference) and other customized IT related events for clients like CA, F5 Networks, Trend Micro , VASCO, HP, RSA, EMC are other innovative marketing solutions to help create long-term, profitable relationships with technology builders, sellers and buyers.

To further accelerate UBM India growth in India , two new publications addressing the growing property and energy sectors, rolled out Property World and the Energy Business monthly magazines together with their respective websites in 2009. Besides new exhibition and publication launches, UBM India launched the Conference division to cater to the needs of quality content and knowledge sectors in India . Counter India Terror India conference and Biosimilars conference were held in 2009 and this year the conference division of UBM India aims to do over 12 conferences across various vertical industries.

Today UBM India is looked upon as a complete media and marketing organization catering to the B2B markets.
